Choosing the language:
We’ve chosen it for you in this guide. Of course.
The reason:
Learning Norwegian can be a valuable and rewarding experience, whether for personal or professional reasons.
In addition, learning Norwegian can also provide some understanding of spoken Swedish and written Danish.
It is also one of the easiest languages to learn for English speakers.

The time interval:
We recommend 1 hour a day for 12 weeks. We believe this is the optimal amount of time for learning Norwegian effectively, but feel free to adjust based on your own pace and schedule. We are not Duolingo after all.
The language you learn through:
English. Surprising, isn’t it.
The amount that you can expose yourself to Norwegian:
As mentioned before, 1 hour a day for 12 weeks. You can replace studying with getting exposed to the language as you improve.

Resource gathering:
App: Duolingo (one of, if not, the best courses on Duo is Norwegian. Note that this course can be quite lengthy, so plan accordingly.), NorwegianClass101 on YouTube (They have their own website too but that is on you. Their videos are just very beneficial. Absolutely recommended.).
Grammar book: For absolute starters, we recommend NTNU’s documents (Short grammar, Pronunciation, Textbook grammar.), they are very easy to understand and cover most of what you need. For deeper learners, Norwegian - An Essential Grammar by Åse-Berit Strandskogen and Rolf Strandskogen. If you are in middle, Kirsti Mac Donald’s Exploring Norwegian Grammar and Praktisk Norsk books.
Dictionary: Lazy choice but Google Translate is the GOAT.
Dictionary in Norwegian only: Ordbøkene website (ordbokene.no).
Children’s book: We love Kurt Blir Grusom, you will too. It is easy to understand and offers great extend to your basic words knowledge.
Studying and Exposing yourself:
Grammar books we recommended will explain everything for you.
You can practice by NTNU’s documents, Kirsti Mac Donald’s Praktisk Norwegian books, Duolingo and, of course, yourself.
You can learn most used word/phrases by NorwegianClass101’s YouTube but we have some movie/series recommendations too. Some are: Ragnarok on Netflix, Troll on Netflix, Valkyrien on NRK…
